If you really are looking for 'cheap shit' then you can find some here, just check out the ebuyer value stuff although I dont recommend it, always go with Corsair / Crucial / Kingston etc

You can get some Kingston stuff for about £80 for 2GB from a few places IIRC.

Since upgrading my PC about a year ago, i've completely fallen out of the computer hardware market - i've no idea what the latest chips are, most popular brands, nothing - so now i'm a bit stuck.

I've currently got 2x512mb PC3200 sticks (ddr) in my motherboard (forgot what motherboard I have, will have to confirm when i get home).

I want to change this out for 2x1024mb sticks of memory, to get 2 sticks of pc3200 ddr ram costs me more than it would to get some stupidly quick pc6400 DDR2 stuff from what i've seen.

What chance do i have of being able to make use of this better, yet cheaper stuff? Im not overlocking this machine at all - so I couldn't give a crap how high the fsb will go etc, I just want to a cheap and effective upgrade for my workhorse.

If anyone can recomend me some good memory for my machine, feel free
