Try slaving it on a different IDE if it isn't already.
What do you want to access his private files for anyway?

Boot to safe mode and log in as administrator.
right click on locked folder, sharing and security, add Administrator into ownership and allow full control

should work after that

If you can, boot to safe mode and do a system restore.

Yeah he gets the blue screen of death that appears for like half a second then starts to boot from scratch again.

Tried to load it as the master from my pc to see if it was his motherboard but it still does the same as when in his. Have it now as the slave and I can see everything but the user stuff. Yeah I think he must have. He did have a password into his pc anyway around it??

Whats happening when he trys to boot up? error messages? blue screen?

Try loading it up in your PC as master, if not try getting to safe mode.

If you have access denied on his files, he has set his files to private when setting up windows.

Ok ppl got an issue and wondering if anyone here is able to sort it out.

Have an issue with a friends pc it wont start up the windows.

So what I have done is removed his harddrive placed it as the slave on my own pc.

This loads up and works fine and I can view through his files (Program files/ Windows and everywhere else), but I can not get into his user account files is there a way to get into this area????? its saying access is denied because he used to have a password to get into his pc.

Is tehre a way to get into this part of the drive by having it included in my pc???

Any help would be much appreciated.
