and for vista I would say the dell machine would need another 512mb RAM (at least), maybe a new GFX card, and ideally more hard drive space as vista takes up a fair chunk | |

Depending on how long it was used as a server it should be fine. Could give it a little service if you wanted though (change the cpu fan, as bearings may be wearing, re-seat the Heat sink with thermal paste and completely reformat the hard disk) | |
