thanks Captain Obvious

just kidding mate, I know what you're saying. The whole lot will cost near enough the cost of a proper HD DVD player  (360 + HD Drive).

I know I'll still be getting a HD-DVD player when they come down in price, wonder if Denon are doing any.....

No i'm saying that you can't just go out and buy that without an xbox.

Yes its a good price if you already have an xbox and want to play hd-dvds though.

I was only replying to the you can get an hd-dvd player for 120 quid.

You can't.

You can get an hd-dvd drive for 120 quid which is useless on its own, so as I originally said, if its significantly under 500 quid its not an hd-dvd player.

yes it won't have all the bells and whistles that other more expensive HD-DVD players will have but it's still an HD-DVD player whichever way you look at it.

plays HD DVD's doesnt it:boggle: just because you need an xbox to run it doesnt mean it isnt as good

A 360 hd-dvd add on is hardly an hd-dvd player.

It is just a pc drive, which you need either an xbox 360 or a pc with software to use.

Slightly different although yes it is quite cheap.

That's what I'm doing Jamie

I don't use the 360 for watching DVDs, makes too much of a noise for one and doesn't compare with the Denon  If the pricing is true though I'm definitely going to be getting the addon.

and no the above player isn't HD.

so in the long run its cheaper to buy 360 (which im doing anyway) and just get the HD DVD add on?

Apparantly the add-on for the 360 is £120

google for HD DVD players...plenty of them

The one you are looking at is expensive because it is a recorder
