I think the connection settings have been lost. You will need to goto tools, internet options, connections. Delete whats in there currently and then add a new one with the correct settings

so basically reinstall the broadband connection?

yep

Go to internet explorer and open that. Then once thats open I get a connection window like I used to when I was on dial up. Then click connect and it used to connect to broadband. But since I installed IE7 it wont connect. The connection window is slightly diffferent aswell to the one we used to get with the old IE. Get various error messages with a number before them in a error window when I click connect. Then click ok then get the error page on the internet explorer itself

How do you connect to the internet? (Not using a router, im guessing you either click a link to dial up, or it does it when you open IE normally)

Do other browsers work?
Does your msn work ok?
Are you connecting to the internet via a router?

Downloaded IE7 for my home computer the other night. Now I cant get on the internet at home

I go to internet explorer like normal, it opens up the window then the connection window comes up asking if I want to connect. I click on connect then the little info bubble at the bottom right of the window comes up saying connected like it normally does. But the page doesn't load. End up with an error message. Then click on diagnose connection problem and it says check the wires between modem and computer. The wires are fine. It gives me no other options on what to do after that.

I dont have a clue what the problem is? in the connection settings it says something about a number but it only has 0 in there.

I am completely stuck as to what the problem is? I haven't changed anything! All I have done is upgrade to IE7...

Did this exact upgrade at work and not had any problems with it? Help!
