indeed, its a nice system for the money.
AS mentioned the gfx card is def the bottleneck, but the system IS future proof for a long time, so you can update as and when.

I think im going to buy 4 x 1gb stocks for that mobo when i get the money

the mobo, cpu and memory are a bundle from OCUK at a good price so none of that is gunna change just yet.

As for the hard drive situation, will this cost me more money? I dont even need 250GB, I only went for the bigger one because it had a bigger cache. So if theres a better option thats cheaper or similar price then i might consider it

gell emmory is good, but if you want to beef up performance at all, get CAS2 if possible...

athlon 64 4200+ dual core is better, but pricey!!!

Instead of 1 Western Digi 250Gb hdd, get 2 smaller 150Gb SATA drives, and put them in RAID-0 configuration... you will get 300gb of space, and an even quicker hdd setup than jsut 1 drive!

graphics WILL be a seriousa bottlenect...

overall tho for a budget system, is nae bad!

Thanks to Bart and others for helping me choose the following bits:

- Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard
- GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5
- AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 90nm (Socket 939)
- Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache
- LG GSA-4167BRL 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
- Leadtek GeForce 6200 Turbo Cache 256MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express)
- Coolermaster Wavemaster Case
- OCZ ModStream 450w ATX2.2 Power Supply

Haven't ordered it yet so if anyone has any suggestions as to what I should do differently, let me know.

I know the graphics card isnt great but im already £130 over budget so that can get upgraded later.

Cheers, James
