Originally posted by topshot_2k Asus SLi-deluxe from overclockers.co.uk. this is a brilliant board and will set you in good stead for dual core 64bit cpus in the future, unless you can afford a AMD X2 4800+ now
If you get the SLI deluxe look out for the dodgy chipset fan this WILL need replacing after 0-3 months. Other than that this is a awesome board and for under a tonne u can't go wrong. if you are going to get a dual core amd get the 4400+ as it has 1mb &1mb cache not 512 & 512 like others. I have this board with a 4400+, it did need a bios update but i highly recommend it! I bought some Kingstom RAm too 1gig pc3200 400hz DDR. I am looking on putting 2 gig in. Its pretty neat! Depends what you can afford really. As you ahve a budget of £300 go for the AMD 3200+ venice. REally good chip for an affordable £120. Total price. CPU - £120 Amd Venice 64 3200+ Motherboard - £95 Asus SLI - Premium(this comes twith the updated chipset fan that doesn't break) RAM - £65 - Kingston 1gig pc3200 DDR 400hz Pretty neat for £300 (All prices from ebuyer)
