I priced up my next upgrade yesterday...

Graphics: 2 * 256MB XFX (SLi) GeForce 7800GTX "Extreme" = £750
Memory: 2 * 1GB (paired) OCZ Platinum CAS2-3-2-5 PC3200 = £230

Not looked at anything else, yet, that lot is almost £1k!

I purchased a new g.card in july and got the saphire X800XL which is an awesome card. Truthfully now I wish i would have gone SLI and bought a 6800 GT, then i could be buying another 1 right now and having dual SLI makijng my doom 3 and UT amazing!!!

Dude go dual SLI its amazing, defo worth the money. It maybe a slight bit more expesive but take a look at these

right, basically been playing a few games lately where I've had to turn some of the detail/resolution down to make it playable. Never though I'd be doing that for a while but obviously my 9800Pro is finding it hard now.

Current spec is as follows:

Abit NF7 motherboard
512mb Twinmos (running dual channel)
Hercules Radeon 9800Pro
Athlon XP 2500+ (running at around 2ghz - has heat issues though )

would preferably like to upgrade the lot really. Get another motherboard that allows some overclocking (but nothing too wild) and can accomodate an Athlon 64 3500+.

Would also like a gig of ram but not sure what is good these days. Corsair?

The big decision is with the graphics card. Do i go for another ATI or go for an Nvidia SLi card? (leaving the option open to adding another SLi card in the future :!)

Comments and views please

Cheers
