Well yeah but I wanted to find out what it looks at in the registry (aside from it's own registry keys)...

I found it just now on the VC5 CD but I need to find out what registry entries it uses and stuff and I don't think Spy tells you?

The basic way it runs is you run the program you wish - i.e. Internet Explorer, then go into Spy+ and select the program you wish to (loose term) debug, and it will tell you stuff - the only reason i used it was to find window sizes etc - but it can do more

Would it be on the VB5 or VC CDs? As I've got them?

Yes part of Visual Studio there is a tool called Spy+ - its in the tools folder on Visual Studio - you can get this from installing just a single entity - i.e. Visual Basic classic - i think this will install the utility.

Does anyone know of a utility I can use that can tell me what files a program tries to open when you run it, or what registry entries it uses, etc.? |
