SP2 could be a good idea, your problems most definately result from a corurupt registry entry, installing SP2 might overwrite some registry info thats important and restore vital functions like RPC. Get yourself a prgram like registry mechanic or tuneup utilities 2004 to see oif there is any dodgy registry enties that need rectifying. Thats my 2 cents anyway. Most my XP problems stem from reg nowadays. | |

The Best option there Was Go to Start>Run Type CMD ats the command Prompt Type SFC/scannow | |

IE being integrated into Explorer, so problems with IE can cause Explorer to crash, just not under the circumstances above. Try installing/reinstalling SP2, or Windows repair. | |

If you have your windows XP CD if this is the operating system your running. Pop the CD in your drive. | |

Sounds like your Explorer is shagg*d, you could always try a repair if your running Windows XP Pro. | |
