a watt is a measure of energy transfer, not energy, so its not watts/hour. Still, 300w PSU wont use that much probably, so yeah, its comparable to leaving a few lightbulbs on. I think its around 8p for a kilowatt hour, so it will be roughly 50p a day but dont quote me on that cos i made it up :lol:

well if it is a 300w PSU, then the maxium it will use is 300w an hour. However, at idle, it will be using probably 50% of that (google it for more info though). So that will be 150w an hour.

just had a thought, is it comparable to say a 100w light bulb? ie having my computer on is going to be the same as having 3 x 100w bulbs on?

if your PSU is 300, then I doubt you will be using more than 200W of power...

excuse my thickness but will that (mine will be considerably less I would assume as the PSU is noly 300) make much of an impact on the electricity bill?

Im always getting an ear full off my mam for leaving my computer on when Im downloading stuff as she thinks it will increase the electricity bill. How much electricity will a compter use :boggle: I know everything runs off 12v's or less but I wasnt sure it that would mean that it uses hardly any :boggle: |
