I get 100 miles to a tenner no prob in my 106 Gti and thats got a couple of engine mods. Just don't thrash the tits off it everywhere...a 1.4 16v should be VERY cheap to run!

i am also thinking along these lines..i have a 70 mile round trip through belfast at rush hour times and motorway miles. Should get 300 miles out of a full tank on my 1.2 8v
