My apex shocks that went were not brand new.

Bit of an unfactuated comment there

I'd rather pay the extra money and have kit that'll last for ages rather than getting a cheapie kit that'll last five minutes!

If you've got money to blow go Koni, if not apex are fine.

Well pay the dosh and get decent stuff. From PVD:-

Eibach Astra Mk3 Springs £127.95

Koni Adjustible Dampers Set Of 4 - £273.60

Total of £401.55.

A LOT, but wud be worth it i expect.

Need a full kit though, as my standard shocks are crap!

Well i wudnt say its high, but its not as low at the back as some other -40mm kits.

Get eibach springs, u cant go wrong with them!

My mate used to have a Corsa GSi and shortly before he sold it for his current car, he bought an Apex kit for it, I noticed on his the rears seemed a little higher than before (it was lowered 30mm on springs only previously)...

Mine are fine, ride and handling both good, just dont drop rear very much on a corsa.
Have no idea about driop reliability on astras tho!

As above really. Thinking of getting a set for my Astra, apparently they lower the car 40mm, which I hope should be OK for my Astra as they will soon have Astra GSi alloys with 195/50/15 tyres.
