brake squeal is normally caused by the back of the pad vibrating against the calliper. You shouls smear copper grease on the back of the pad and idealy use anti squeal shims.

the brake disk probably has a lip on it...were the pads have worn down and they have been wearing against the disk...feel the edge of the disk...will be a small lip!

My rear drums were squealing, cleaned everything out and sanded them down a bit, a week later and there squealing again!
Im not gonna worry about it!

Had a mate change them, (they are fitted properly) got drilled and groved disks and pads for them in the same offer so they are the rite ones. Was fine for a while. do alot of miles motorway most.

It doesn't mean that they are still intact where did you get the brakes changed ? what model of brake pads are they ? how do you drive on them etc

Yeah thanks mate, Just changed the diskes and pads less than 2k ago. Is so bloody annoying, halfords on the way home then.

possibly worn brakepads or disks (replace them) or they could be just dirty ( a can of brake cleaner from halfords)

I have this most annoying problem, every time i brake i get this squeaking, what could the cause be and how can i stop it??:boggle:
