When i was thinking about this my insurance was going to go from £500 to £900 from a 1.2 sxi to a 2 litre

Your wrong, even if you have a small bump and work needs doing to fix it anyone will notice you have a 2.0 16V under there rather than a 1.2. Also if you smash into someone else's car then they will have to carry the claim until it all goes through the courts to get you done for criminal damage.

Well really the transplant was the key, the insurance really is something to go over later. I thought about keeping it as a 1.2, and just living with a heavier wallet and a little bit of risk. I know if i have an accident i am fooked, but i figure they will only be looking at the engine in a serious accident, in which case i will probably be dead anyway in my 2 star corsa (so chances are very minute obviously, because i am too young to die)

I suppose insurance was an after-thought as you've already had the transplant done? ;)

The engine will take the car upto an insurance group 15, so its gonna be a pretty steep premium cause of your age.

To be fairly honest mate, a transplanted engine with no NCB and your only 18 and only passed your test for a year? Their going to rape you for the insurance.

Try tesco too -- they gave me a reasonable quote for mine -- have to call them though for transplant -- just ask for a percentage power increase...
