I think Vauxhall are trying to put on ultimate speed over what the car was sposed to be.

The 1800 K series engine, is what... 92kg ? lightest engine I know of, by adding all their shit to it and that engine I dread to think how much the lightweight roadster now weighs.

Its 0-100 ability of 12.5s I dont think will detour many elise owners to sell up as its still a vauxhall and still a not pretty car.

The elise standard returns 40mpg, the vvc 160 does 48mpg. I doubt the turbo 220 would be do that, and be in the 10s when booting it, I used to own a turbo and that did 8mpg average. and 3mpg on boost. The elise is a lightweight fun roadster with great balance. You have to remember on the road understeer is preferable to oversteer because more often than not you can swing the arse out as there is traffic on the other side of the road.

Most cars to have fun in these days you have to be doing >100mph whereas the elise has always been about having fun within the limit which it gives in bucket loads. Its also very small and nimble and is a brilliant size for out tight country lanes where you couldn t drive at 9/10ths in a bigger car like a ferrari etc.

Watching Top Gear tonight i feel in love with the VX220 (2.0 turbo version) 4.0 seconds and appeared to handle amazingly. I think i might have to get one when i decide to get a full-time job after college / uni, i wish :(
