I just sent a nice big complaint email to Hyde Park Corner and Clifford UK.

As I got the alarm under finance, where do I stand if I want the alarm removed and a refund issued of instalments already paid? Is such a thing possible?

Never had any problems with heat......mainly because I live in the UK, where it rarely gets above "arctic" (except today, when it was mildly warm at Santa Pod :D )!

You can buy them in Halfords, but they get a mobile fitter to install it (Hyde Park Corner). They also sell LaserLine alarms too I think...

Right here goes...

Put my car in valet mode this morning as last time I left the car armed during the day it went off and I couldn't disarm it till about 10 minutes later, anyway I put it in valet mode at about 9am, went back to the car at about 4pm (totally forgot I put it in valet mode), the red LED wasn't on, so I thought maybe it armed itself or something, none of the buttons on the key fobs worked, and somehow the immobiliser activated during the time I put it in valet mode, so I couldn't start the car!

Anyway, I noticed that inside the car it was VERY hot, tried to get hold of the alarm installer people/Clifford/someone even phoned Halfords where I bought the alarm from (they were about as useful as a chocolate teapot). so in the end I just disconnected the negative battery lead in the engine for a few minutes, and removed the control unit for the alarm under the dash, and noticed it was very hot.

After leaving the battery disconnected and letting some air into the car etc. for a few minutes and putting everything back, the alarm was fine!

Does anyone else have problems with Clifford alarms in hot weather? It's a Clifford Concept 300 in a mk3 Astra by the way.

Not sure what to do now, as the installer people (Halfords use a company called Hyde Park Corner) have been out several times to sort out various problems with the alarm (prox. sensor sensitivity and immobiliser wiring was incorrect).

One very pissed off Sam :rolleyes::(
