ive done the same to mine and tbh i wasnt really that impressed the money i spent tuning and fitting a 1.6 i could of easily fitted a 2.0 for less

i would not bother doing a 1.4 to 1.6 conversion as its not much quicker really unless you spend thousands getting the power up much cheaper and easier to drop a 2.0 in

If you have a corsa sport 1.4 then its easy just swap the bottom end for a 1.6 one and get ecu remapped to 1.6 still works on 1.4 ecu though

I have done! They said to me earlier it wouldn't change on a 2.0litre! I put a post on here earlier and everyone said they made a mistake so I rang them again and they then said they wouldn't insure me!! This time I rang twice and both times they said the same thing so I asked for them to send it to me in writing!

I will lose out if I was to sell my car cos I've had a lot of work done to the looks as in full bodykit, smooth boot etc. It will cost more to put all that on a new 1.6 Corsa.

I've just spoke to my insurance company again which is Liverpool Victoria and they said my premium will not change if I was to put a 1.6 in!

the way i look at it is that yes as a straight swap the 2l offers the best return for your money- but you have said you cant get insured so.....get 1.6 and spend next couple of years adding to it rather than just waiting for 2l- you can get thwe 1.6 bloody fast

probably cheaper anyway to get a 1.6 sport or gsi than a transplant

yeah but by the time you get the 1.6 to 150/160bhp you could already have the 2.0 and start tuning it to be even higher which is 150bhp standard for a red top

highly tune the 1.6 and get it to about 150/160bhp and it'll whip 2 litres, coz the 1.6 is lighter...

Dont bother wait a year or two then get the 2.0...1.6 is nippy but not lightning...

im not totally sure but i think a 1.6 engine may actually be more expensive than a 2.0. your best bet would be to wait another couple of years and then do the conversion
