I don't mean perma seal it, as car is stationary it should be easy enough to test. As long as is a case of soon as fires you turn it off. | |

Doubtful you can seal it, if you're going to run with oil in then ideally it needs repairing. Fit one, run it, see what happens. Any other bodge with a hole in the engine is just going to leave you spending longer cleaning the garage that it would have taken to fit a sump. | |

The sump damage doesnt fit with the rest though so i suspect its been holed at the salvage yard. Im quite confident the engine is good but just want to be sure. | |

Probably running when the oil was dropped in which case there's a likelihood of damage. | |
