lights not on..it is having a dpf delete along with the remap

Surely if it's had the DPF ripped out the car is going to know that and throw an engine light/code? Engine light is an mot failure isn't it? Then you map it to map out the engine light and DPF.

as said blue smoke isnt diesel burning.

why does every one assume if you remove the dpf, map it etc you get a shit tonne of smoke,

maps are getting alot better i've removed the dpf and pre cat, before the map and after the map i have no more smoke then when it was completely standard.

Mot time and the emissions test last time it was mot'd it was unmapped dpf and cat removed and it pissed the test...

Few people have said it could be because it still thinks a dpf so ain't running quite right..it's got to be done anyway so I'll let you know how it goes

As above Blue smoke = Engine oil so probably turbo seals or heavy breathing (worth changing the crank case filter if its not been done).

Get someone to rev the car and then have a sniff, burnt engine oil is very distinctive.

Same difference. You use an emissions testing machine to do the smoke test. So it doesn't matter what you call it. Your will still have an issue with it come mot time.

I had the option of DPF delete.
Couldn't justify the extra shit ton of smoke coming out of what is a respectable car.
No smoke, no poke. Nah... I'd rather it not look like it's broken.

Not really worried about "mot time" the issue was bit of blue smoke..ain't noticed any extra black soot but then it ain't been mapped yet so might be different after..but still

have you had the dpf totally removed or just the insides taken out? as you will have problems come MOT time if its not there at all.

That's what I originally thought turbo on its way out...see if it continues once it's mapped

There's a difference between blue smoke and the black smoke most generic derv maps produce.
Blue smoke is oil, it's probably a sign your turbo is on the way out.
The dpf tends to catch the smoke. When it's in there. So chances are you've had a turbo on the way out for a while but the dpf has been catching the smoke. Now there no dpf the smoke is coming out the back.

Yeah my 330 smokes like crazy with no dpf, don't worry about it

Any diesel with no DPF will smoke on boost. Have it mapped and it'll probably be even worse.

I've got a bmw 118d dpf light came on few weeks back so decided to have it removed and mapped...had the dpf removed today and it's being mapped next week but I've noticed on boost little cloud of blue smoke..id say it's worse when it just comes onto boost then you let off..me mate (mechanic) who removed it said get it mapped first because it could be its because it's still running a map with dpf in so could be something to do with that failing that turbo could be on its way hence why dpf got blocked..anyone shed any light on this?
