May as well! £70 a wheel otherwise haha probably 50/60 for gsi as they're not big or complicated..
Ifrom u just wanna wet paint go to your local refinishing supplier and ask them for a colour chart. Will be a generic colour but will be a good match then..

They're actually in really good condition. With only minor scuffs probably caused in storage. That's why I was thinking of doing them myself.

If it's corroded you will see it through the paint if it's not polished away. If it's deep corrosion you will see it through the paint or powder.
Blasting will only remove paint and debris it doesn't create a smooth surface on the work piece you will still be able to see pitting.
That's why alloy refurbs can get expensive

I would suggest power coating then anyway as will no doubt have corrosion somewhere and there's only a certain amount you can polish out the rest you can fill with the powder coat. Similar to how high build filler works..
Any decent refurber will dip them or blast them before painting basically starting with a bare alloy so no need to worry about stuff like that

All the newer vauxhalls are star silver so personally would just do them the same.

Someone else asked this a while a go and I had every intention of taking my wheels to my uncles unit to find a powder that matches but I never got round to it!
I've got a centre cap in my glovebox now so I'll pop past next Friday afternoon and match it to a colour in the colour charts and let you know the code and powder manufacturer

My apologies. Thought he meant me! Too used to the scoobynet trolls always on the wind up.

I think he may have meant that the dealer won't know.

Facepalm. Really? I want it back to factory standard or better. That means trying to get everything spot on. Not an issue for most, but it'll be my first proper restoration project.

They are silver, just want to make sure I get the right shade. Might enquire with vauxhall and see if they can tell me.

They're not a body-colour finish.
Although any bright silver will do.
Ford Moondust is fairly bright, MG have one as well. As do Mercedes.
I would think you'd get away with Star Silver but its not the brightest given a choice.

Haven't got the proper name for the colour but by the looks of this just seems to be silver:

Picked up some standard Gsi wheels for project de-chav, and they need a light refurb. Thought I'd give it a go myself. Does anyone know the original colour, if it's still available.
