How did it activate/work? Mine failed a DOT inspection for not having one.

Mine was a '94 C16, the flasher under the hazard switch was for the alarm. The alarm activated when you deadlocked.

Is it deffo a C16 block?

In which case it would make sense to get the earlier loom and ECU.

Although if it did run it should again, when we were doing Mikes track car I know we immobilised it by accident with an earthing problem on the antenna so it could be repaired if your symptoms are similar.

I would rather keep the C16

It used to belong to Ryan Coughtrie and its had the C16 in it since way before he even got it, Definetly runs but its been laid up for a while now.

From memory I think you're right.

Yours is an N reg though? Which makes it too new to have a C16, must have had an engine at some point.

Good news being X16 are easy to get hold of as anything out a later Sport will suit, and your C16 is probably worth more money than said Sport will cost you.

So i was always under the impression C16 GSI's werent immobilised.

Mines a C16, but has a keychip and ignition barrel ring, As well as the little flasher in the hazard switch.

Surely the X16 ecu and loom/keychip wouldnt function on a C16?

Reason i'm asking is mine currently wont start as its immobilised and i'm just looking to see if i'm dealing with some butchery and bodgery or if j simply just need to get an earlier loom and ECU ?
