You don't patent designs (in the UK at least) - you register the design. I read in a different article that JLR did register the design, which isn't all that surprising. However the real problem is that China don't seem to give a shit about patents and registered designs. The powers that be seem to ignore complaints about violations and let companies continue doing what they like - I guess in the long run it's going to hurt them if they keep it up.

They're an emerging market and they won't let anything get in the way of their industrialisation. It's one way to progress I suppose

I'd actually drive the red one! Looks great.

Amazing how far the Chinese manufacturing industry has progressed in such little time.

The best one has got to be the fake Matiz, of all the cars you could copy they chose this:

They had one out in the past called a JMC that looked remarkably like a frontera.

Lord knows how they get away with it

LandWind’s earlier CV9 people-carrier scored just two stars out of five in European crash tests in 2010.

I especially like the safety rating on their previous effort.

Well like Top gear said, BMW moaned at them for copying the X5, Chinese government ruled against BMW and told them to sod off haha, Land Rover are just another car maker to get shafted
