Thanks for that mark, it would be pretty standard anyway, probs just a decat, a diesel airbox and remap

in my old coupe turbo i use to average 30mpg and that was with a standard engine, you seem to get better mpg after a remap on these

Thanks for the replies folks, if it could do around 30 or more that would be perfect, it will be mostly motorway miles during the week and more fun driving at the weekends. Will be saving money as i wont be paying monthly payments on my car at the moment so that will cover any other fuel costs. Will get a insurance quote when i get home, will be 24 next month and have 6 years ncb so hopefully insurance wont be to bad

Used to get 24 in my G convertible, measured over a long time period so fairly accurate.

Might be better if you're doing motorway miles in it but I'd be aiming for under 30, my experience wasn't great.

Coupe is also lighter.

Mine was averaging 32.2 mpg , with a vxr turbo and regal remap. Was a really comfy well equipped car.

Insurance was £430 a year fully comp for me. 27 , 9 years ncb, but I live in the sticks! lol

That sounds good to me, my astra just now is terrible
on fuel anyway, best ive had out mines was 400 to a tank
that was when we went to blackpool for the weekend so motorway all the way. Only usually see around 35-40 mpg with it, thats a 56 plate 1.6 astra, now to see what kind of money i can get for my astra, and a insurance quote for a coupe. Whats you paying to insure it, anyone the has one that is

You'll see 38 mpg most days in it driving it sensible.

On a run you can even touch 40mpg.

They're good engines tbf.

Ive been looking at astra coupe turbos lately
As they seem to be fairly cheap these days, also
been considering gsi's but the coupes seem to be
a better price.

What kind of mpg do you get with these? I do around
26 miles a day to and from work which is all motoeway
driving. Is about 30 mpg possible from these engines or
am i way off?

I know people will say if your worried about fuel consumption
then dont buy a 2 litre turbo etc

For the money the coupes are going for it will hopefully be a bit
more exciting motoring for me.

Cheers folks
