i looked into this a little while ago as well and from what i found out that it was as already said ecu cams inlet ext isnt there a lad on hear funning stuppid stuppid bhp out of a C16 like 200+ or something but cost him a fortune and eats pistonrings for fun it was in one of my posts a few months ago | |

149bhp they were making, i emailed lotus few years ago and heard nothing back. ecu and an inlet like the mantzels is probably only things they changed as the standard cams work well to just above 7k iirc, | |

youd maybe get a technical increase eg a couple of bhp on a rolling road, but nothing youd notice whhile driving | |

Doubt it was all because of insurance purposes, The 2.0 XE's were 150ish BHP, Would have made it look silly buying one of those if you were just looking for speed and power, rather than bothered about the bigger cars. | |
