Oh so it didn't come with the 16's that the 03 model comes with. This is them on my Sxi:

Yes more pics of my car
The reason i post these is to show you that an Sxi on 16's with 195/45 rubber doesn't look like a 4x4, so an Sri on 17's with 205/35 rubber will be about the same i think.

There it is. it is a 2001model

Excellent! Not lowering on 17s

I think you'll be able to go to about 30 - 40 mm with just springs, any lower and i think you'll need springs and dapmpers.

Do you have any pics of ur car Sri_Lad, what colour is it? What year is it ?

SRi_Lad

What about lowering then?
Can I just get lowering springs or will I have to change the dampers? Haven't got a clue about lowering.

the 16" wheels that come on the Sri (which i've got) are ET40, and there looks like there's plenty of room, they also stick out nicely because of the 9mm less offset.

Gambit

posted on 14th Apr 03 at 09:11

if they are the correct offset then they'll fit perfectly, u2u him to find out the offset

offset aint as big an issue on corsa c as it is corsa b

there is a v.nice set of new 17" BK 299's for sale in the classifieds section for £225 no tyres

they are a very nice looking wheel

u'll still need to lower the corsa another 30mm or so otherwise it's resembles a moon buggy

Red_SXi

It should look fine mate, i've got a Corsa C Sxi with the 16" Sri wheels wich have 195/45 tyres, and it seems quite low, your Sri will be slightly lower than mine and with lower profile tyres should be about the same height off the ground. I know that everyone is going to post and say it needs to be lowered otherwise it'll look like a 4x4, but i honestly dont think it will. The best aftermarket alloys for a Corsa C IMO are Masitaly VT7, they are available in 17" and 18" but the 17's look like 18's, and the 18's look like 19's due to the shape of the front of them. I think with tyres you're looking at around £650 - £700 for 17's delivered.

SRi_Lad

Well, I have decided to bite the bullet and buy myself some 17" alloys in the not so distant future!

So I call upon you peeps to help in my decision, and also help with the usual question associated with 17's...

Firstly, what do you guys recommend, was thinking about a set of Dare V1 or V2?! Opinions please.

What is a good price for these, and where would do you recommend I get them from? (live in London if that helps!)

BUT, I don't want to lower the car!! So if I do fit 17s will it look stupid, It is an SRi (corsa C) so it is lower that standard models?!

Also I believe that I don't have to do any arch mods to fit them, is that true?

Cheers in advance guys.
