yeah, gud point actually, could raise it and soften it for every day use, then slam him and hard as a brick for luks

couldn't comment mate, never driven a car on 19's, low or otherwise.

my daily drive is 17's/60mm. everyone comments on how hard/uncomfortable it is, but i don't mind sacrificing a bit of comfort for the better looks of it that low.
saying that, its a pain in the ass not being able to take loads of people in the car and having to steer around all the road imperfections (many of the fcuckers in britain!), and not being able to travel as fast as yu like on country/bumpy roads etc.

if you r gettin coilovers tho, yu can wind it up to a more comfortable level for everyday stuff, and drop it down to 120mm for cruises/shows.

what drop would u recomend getting on 19s then if i was to have them?

myke

sounds like a good idea.
also gotta consider differences between 19's on a 80mm drop on coilovers, and 19's on a 120m drop on custom made efforts.

get a ride in one with 17's/30mm drop and 17's/60mm drop to gauge an idea of what difference the extra height loss makes to ride/handling/comfort.

yeah, i might try having a drive in one with 19s and see how i like it first

it will drive, but won't handle too well,
thats going by the difference of jumping up to 17's fro standard wheels,
also low suspension does nothing whatsoever to aid comfort.

you'll be relishing in the looks you get, but don't think it'll make up for the discomfort.
it'll tramline all over the show, and you'll soon learn where all the ripples/bump/potholes/draincovers/pebbles are in your local area as you'll dread having to drive over any of them.

don't let me piss on your bonfire tho; get more opinions before deciding.

all the above is my opinion only.
:)

it is my daily drive. i use it for everything. i want the looks and head turning ability of 19s, but need it to be driveable. whats so bad about the handing on 19s then?

myke

posted on 8th Apr 03 at 22:48

if your making a show car it doesn't matter too much how it drives. will definately look the tits if you got the beans to get it done to high standard, but if its you daily drive and you want it to handle well, then your gona be disappointed imo

DJ_Voodoo

no, it aint a wind up, im totally serious. i was gunna put it on some TSW Pin Drives, and have some custom coilovers made to lower it 120mm. but it aint getting a very gud responce handling and driving wise from ppl, just looks wise

myke

this a wind up?

would look the tits yeah, but it wouldn't drive nice whatsoever.!

DJ_Voodoo

posted on 8th Apr 03 at 22:41

oh, fek. i was gunna put 19s on. with custom coilovers to lower it 120mm.bad idea is it then?

myke

posted on 8th Apr 03 at 22:39

you mean after the 19's come off or after they go on?
will handle far worse with them on mate.

mine was bouncy as feck with just low springs on standard shocks.
now on springs and shocks it's better, but still not very sure footed.
doesn't really inspire confidence for me.

mien should be gud after the 19s then. better had be any way if im spending all that money!

Tends to skip out easily on corners, understeers a fair bit too. Thats with 15" 195/45 wheels. Dunno if its normal, dont get on with other people I see around in Corsa's with 15's.

Should be improved a fair bit when I lower it.

DJ_Voodoo

bollocks as standard. like a sponge! although going from a mini, any thing would be shit handling

Rubbish as standard :(

myke

i'm not keen on the way the corsa handles, but could be big wheel syndrome.
its nice if the surface is totally flat and smooth, but then anything would handle nicely then.

what yu all reckon?
