pc is hardly ever switched off - just leave it on all the time - so maybe it did overheat as most of ya say

What p!sses me of is when me mouse pointer bu99ers of for a walk round the screen on its own, usually shoots straight up to top corner!

I know 2000 restarts on a bad crash, you don't even get to see it blue screen. Mine used to do it because of dodgy memory.

Stability issues normally relate to temperature problems, or to the OS installation. What OS you got??

Yeah could be stability issue! if its not a regular occurance i wouldnt worry too much

If your computer over heats it will reset itself.

To find out get a program called Motherboards Monitor, download it and run it on the system, play a game or do something that requires the machine works hard, check what the temperature tops out at after about 30 mins of hard use, depending on the CPU they can take different temperatures and still be ok. Also have a look in your BIOS and check if the "Shutdown on overheat" option is being used, if it is you could turn it off or let it allow a higher temp.

power surge / short power cut, maybe you touched a loose power cable with your foot or something
