Cheers mate :)
I need a bit of arch work on the passenger side rear, but just the basic stuff I think. I'm too lazy and not done it yet, I can live with it as it is for now.

Yeah I do - click here for pic's

I was wanting 17's originally but found a guy sellin Speedline Alessio 2's so grabbed them.
Glad I got 16's rather than 17's now coz the car is slow enough as it is. Plus it looks great lowered 60mm on the 16's

Handles better than standard 13's or 14's, doesn't slow the car down that much (but there is a small difference) and looks better in proportion with the rest of the car.

i like the PSG2 Wide arch kit

Depends if u wanna put a subtle kit on it also. For the mix between the two, i'd say 16"s.

This way u can still get a few decent bodykits (none of the combat stuff).

thanks m8, first decent answer yet :D looks like 15s it is

1. How much difference do 15s make from 14s

none if you have 45 profile tyres.
Handles bloody great on a 40mmdrop

2. how much difference is 16s from 14s

big difference. Noted a massive decrease in pull from 15"s to 16"s
Handling shouldn't be any better that 15"s. Will roll more due to bigger alloys, but still ok.

3. how much difference is 17s from 14s

Major, say bye bye to acceleration and top speed (unless u had the power to make it faster which u wont in a 1.2)
handling wise, say goodbye to track days etc. Unless u've had lots of arch work done, there is no chance u could rag it round a corsa like u could on 15"s or 16"s.

cheers

S'ok ;)

i have ordered 17's for my 5 door corsa, i was looking at 16's but there is very few wheels that come in 16's et45 or above i have been looking for a week and couldnt find any i like.
If u want looks 17's look way better than 16's, they just stand out more

i got a set of rollerblades that dont fit me if u want the wheels off them. they only done about 20miles, plenty of tread left, one careful lady owner, good little runners, etc etc

Marc

posted on 1st Apr 03 at 16:58

Not if u get the right profile tyre. itll be slower on 17s.

Voyto

posted on 1st Apr 03 at 16:56

hhmm, arnt 16" tyres expensive to cos they are rarer than the other sizes. also, will my car be a lot slower on 16s?

Marc

posted on 1st Apr 03 at 16:55

the bigger u go the slower ul go, 17s will need arch mods no doubt. 16`s r a sensible choice. Wont handle as well with 17s. 15s r good 4 handlin but ur usually limited as to wot wheels available. + the bigger u go the more lower profile tyre ul need makin ur wheels mor vulnerable.

Lookin into gettin some alloys soon but dont know what size to get! My car is only a SXi 1.2 16V and my mate has got the same. he has 17s on and now its soooo slow my mums 1.0 micra could beat it in a race. he has to ride the clutch to get it to go and i dont really want this.

BUT...

on the other hand they look class and 15s look a bit small.

someone please answer these questions...

1. How much difference do 15s make from 14s

2. how much difference is 16s from 14s

3. how much difference is 17s from 14s

in every aspect, such as handeling, speed, etc.

cheers
