LOL its a fact... the 1.6 16v corsa engine (1994-2000) was pants.... no torque what so ever and managed a quite poor 9.5 seconds to 60mph... compared to 7.7 of the gti.... your telling me 2 seconds of difference is down to the 200kg a corsa carries?
Speaking mechanics all day is all fine and well but it also goes down to the driver as well. No doubt everyone on here is perfect and never spins the wheels when pulling away but put a rubbish driver in a 106 Gti and a good driver in the 1.6 Sport and the sport could win. Thinking about it. Putting a quality set of tyres on a Corsa 1.6 and a dodgy set of very hard remoulds on a Gti and what would win. Back on topic. I washed mine the other day which is good for 450 bhp due to less resistance. LL
