Had the same problem with my car, (Deisel mondeo)
Every time i started it first thing in the morning black smoke would bellow out, every other time it was fine. it's caused where the oil is thick and settles over night,

change the oil and im sure that will fix the problem.

oil coming though the rocker cover vent into the inlet. starts up oil gets combusted. maybe she needs an oil change. oil from turbo seals would be black smoke

She says it only smokes on start-up and I noticed it yesterday.

She says that it does'nt smoke all the time but shes a divv and probably has'nt noticed.

blue smoke is an oil leak, might be the seals on the turbo are gone, best to get is checked over rather than risk blades going into the engine, is it just at startup it smokes or constantly?
