Just wondering how they acheive the whole set up in th vw's. I've got the blue LED setup in my Gsi, but you lose all the "red" increments ie. low fuel, high temp etc. However with the golf's etc, the red markings still light red. Anybody ever pulled apart one of these dash boards? I'm only having a guess but is it possible they use white led's and its the actual dials that are coloured? Do you think this same effect could be achieved in the corsa if say blue gel caps (coloured lenses used in theatrical lighting) were put behind the parts needing to be illuminated blue and the red parts left untouched using white leds as the light source? Only problem I can see would be light seeping out and around the dials. Anyway....food for thought. Im mainly curious as to how the VW dash's are set up. |
