Believe me, nothing would shift this bastard! I actually bent the steering wheel with a 3 claw puller trying to get it off.

I wedged my knees under it, I smashed the granny out of it with a hammer.

So I bought a proper GM steering wheel puller and it was off in seconds :)

i usually leave the nut threaded down abit and smash it with a hammer and the shock pops it off :)

Puller work's a treat slots in the two hole either side of the main shaft then svrews down onto that thread and pulls it off dead easy have to order it form halfords unless they have one knocking one about £20 for one

hahaha i had the same problem a few months back, i ended up tieing a rope to the spokes on the steering wheel,pulled the rope through the boot and tied it to my mates towing eye, that got it off easy enough :lol:

i made 2 bars to go across the wheel, one on top and one underneath, a bolt on each side to hold them to the wheel and welded a nut in the middle which i put a bold through, wond it up against the original nut, still on collumn but loosened and it popped off easy no damage to the wheel.
that was on a vw camper that my usual pullers wouldnt fit

leave the nut on a few threads, other wise it'll be a trip to the emergency dentists when you get wound up by it and decide to rag it :lol:

Ah the puller I'm using grabs the outside of the steering wheel. Whereas looking at the official GM ones work right off the centre of the steering wheel in the little holes. I'll see if Halfords stock them tomorrow, if not I'll eBay one.

No joke I always find rapidly bashing either side of the wheel with your palms gets them off. I had one where a puller wouldn't work but my mate came and did it with his hands.

Shouldn't bend the wheel - the pullers I've used hook on the centre of the wheel and push off the thread in the middle.

the actual vauxhall steering wheel pullers are quite handy for this kind of issue.

Anyone got any tips?

I've done it before and it usually comes off with a bit of persuasion. This one is stuck firm, I've even giving it a bit of a smacking with a giant persuader.

So I got a massive 3 claw puller, which did an amazing job of bending the steering wheel and ripping the leather/foam off.

So I'm now thinking, light oil, and a bit more force.

Anyone got any amazing tips that might help? It's a non-airbag, normal Corsa B wheel, that crap poverty spec horrible one.
