Anyone got a guide on the wiring for the 12 valve?

just a suggestion, if you are after a figure of 130bhp, you could drop in a 1.6sport engine, strait-through exhaust & a cheap power box (£100 ish) that will be around 130 bhp.

Would cost a total bomb to turbo it :(

Probs due to the lower comp

i think it is okay yea. its the multipoint injection fuel pump, so it will be ok.

the only reason you have to change it is if you have singlepoint injection engines, as they run a lower pressure. So you will be fine! :)

you need a 2litre fuel pump am sure they are all the same..

correct me if am wrong! :o

** vauxhall 2.0litre fuel pump **

My dad hates xe's reckons the cam belts snap all the time plus my brother had problems with an xe'd corsa he bought...

My plans are to the the 8v and keep it for a while and maybe put a xe when I get bored lol ;p So a 12v fuel pump will be ok?

I don't mean to come across insulting (so hopefully it doesn't as it's not meant to be), but your dad probably says that because he "grew up" so to speak with 8v engines and knows more about them than 16v ones so prefers them as it's what he knows.

Going from a C20SEH to C20XE you're only getting like 20-30bhp increase, I think you can turbo the C20SEH which will give you better power gains and it's less common, if that gets you going

yea they do give you alot more room in the engine bay!

you can get the F16+ boxes on them, so take your pick, 20 is probs the best tbh. Shafts you will have to use either 22 spline GSi corsa shafts wit mk2 astra inner cv's...or get the m'sport hub and shaft kit for it.
Gear linkage, LMF sell a conversion quickshift...is a gem of a buy! and i think the standard fuel pump is the same as all injection corsas (which is the same as the cav turbo) so should do the job. not hard to come by if need be...

You will also need to get the mount kit, Chris Astley is probs your best bet there tbh. about £130 if i remember correctly...

oh, and you will need a top hose to go from thermostat to rad, and i got mine of ebay for £33. get an XE one and trim a bit off! :)

I wanted an xe in the first place but my dads being picky and says he only let me put the 8v in he says there easyier to work on and tend to be a stronger engine and dont bend valves... ;p I'm looking for the 130bhp engine and unsure on witch box to use... The 8v is better then the 12volt any day of the week mine pulls like a snail any only has 54 donkey power so 130bhp is a little more of a kick untill I get used to loads of power in a small car then I'll move on to the xe route :)

So what am I looking for the conversion? What box, shafts and hubs do I use and what do I do for the gear linkage? and fuel pump?

my sister had a 2.0 8v seh in her's and the torque was fun :) pulled and spun up in 3rd easy :P

i had an 8v in mine for a good 10 months and was a great engine. got it cammed and spend alot trying to keep it going and pull more power from it. i would have kept it but for philip2 off here doing a rebuild cheap for me.

Dont ask others...decide what YOU want and do it! :)

the XE is as hard wearing, but the 8v isnt an XE...and so is something a little 'abnormal', thats why i wanted mine...

i had a rebuilt sri 130 cav engine in my nova. Ported polished. Full exhaust , filter and modified inlet. Lasted about 6 months. Was quick but nothin like my mates xe . But i just got another 8v for 30 quid its all down to what you can afford.

I wouldn't say its more robust, all depends how the engine has been looed after. I have heard good things about the 8v (seh one) although if I was you I'd go for an XE. All upto you really!

Dont bother, 16v or nothing.

Crana

After reading about bove engines I'm going to go for the 8v over the 16v as it seems its more robust? and I think a 2.0 16v (redtop) what ever you want to call it might be a little to much compared to driving a 12volt..

My question is what will I need for the conversion? and any tips?
