get a small mp3 player and buy the speakers that plug into it ive got one and the sound quality is ace

Seeing as my car has no stereo I'm tempted to get a portable CD player thingy with the built in speakers

1) Can these be plugged into the ciggy lighter?
2) What's the sound quality like?
3) How much for a semi decent one?
