Revving the shit out of it will cause it too. you could melt a piston, fuck the rings, rev it from cold and nail the bearings or you could snap/bend a conrod. If you drive it like a twat you could quite easily blow the bottom end. | |

That would explain it then, I used to go on short thrashes round Lincoln in the morning not realising at the time the sump had a hole in it :| Dipstick was still showing decent amounts of oil though, which was why I didnt pick up on it | |

So it isnt just generally revving the shit out of it that causes it, you do have to have to oil otherwise it would, generally, be fine? | |

Driving with revs going up to the rev limiter in each gear with little/no oil also causes this. | |

The 'bottom end' going is what killed my Corsa apparently, ive been googling but there isnt a lot of information on it. Is it a particular driving style that causes it or are some parts just weak from the factory and in essence its luck? |
