Buy and set of Bike carbs but run them as tb's. Just ask bogg bro's to drill some injector holes in the manifold for ya. Then you have the cheapness of carbs, but the performance of tb's :) Only costly part is management still though...not sure how to get round that one...

use bike tb's. can get them pretty cheap.

you used to be able to get ignition only ecu's to run carbs with a fixed dizzy. i had an mbe one on my nova years ago. was only about 150 quid.

I dont know the zetec's well at all you would have to check to see if they have a dizzy drive if not you need an ecu to run the ignition.

no probably not.

as you would need proper aftermarket management to run it, in which case your better of getting tb's on it as they can be set up alot more presicely and will have better results

could it be done for under 1k??

Bogg brothers will let you drive in and out for £800-900 i'm sure!

Zetec engines can run the r1 or suzuki carbs, Iirc!

if it is for a c20xe mate, then as kev said about the r1 carbs will be cheapest option.

see here:

http://www.totalvauxhall.co.uk/resources/totalvauxhall/TOV64.tech60697.pdf

there is also a lad on pngclub iirc that is selling a complete r1 carb setup to go onto the c20xe

if it's an xe which i think it will be, look up R1 bike carbs, H&H solutions for a ignition setup, bogg brothers for a inlet manifold.

Sure Av it would set it up for oyu, but you need a few others thing to run this.

And yes no ecu, cause old engines were carbs no ecu exactly how they run.

i can give you some help if you u2u me, but i'm not an expert!

when u run a car on bike carbs u dont need an ecu.

you can use an ignition only setup to run them.

but yeh u need carbs, inlet manifold made up, a dizzy to and ignition coil to run them.

if you speak to andy(av it) he will know everything thats needed.

what engine u putting them on??

the ecu doesn't run bike carbs...thats the point to them really :S

and yeah basically, Av it can explain! OR call Bogg brothers.

XE luke

can you put bike carbs on any engine??
is it a case of removing old inlet etc and having a custom inlet made that will mate with the bike carbs and getting an ecu to run it?

not quite sure how it works or prices but its something id like to look into doing??

any help be great
