I am an a/c engineer and just getting your a/c system recharged is not the answer to your problem. A/c systems are sealed systems. if you keep having to charge your system with gas then you have a problem ie you have a leak. depending on how long your gas lasts will depend on how big your leak is. there is also an other factor. Charging the sysem knowing that is going to leak carrys a £20.000 fine or 3 years in the nick.

Every cars aircon is wank. It NEEDS to be used at least once a week, other wise the rubber seals connecting the pipes dry up and perish, causing it to leak.

i dont know about vauxhalls but hondas have pish aircon condensors which always corrode therefore allowing gas to escape.

if you know someone with a set of gauges (for aircon on cars) ask them just to check the pressure on the system...sadly theres not much you can do apart from see if its geting cold...although if you touch the aircon pipes running through the engine bay while the car is running with the aircon on coldest (they go just behing your behind your battery ) one should be hot and one should be cold...if there not then get it checked out by a garage bud
