they are always straight cut gears aswell, it's to do with the engagement of gears not the gears them selfs. | |

it probably is worth near a grand yes, instead of sycromesh they use things called dog engagement the 'dogs' are big chunky metal teeth that engage which the other teeth opposite by ramming it into gear, it's a fast why of changing gear because you can have the foot down near 100% of the time, you can't change gear slowly or it won't change gear and expect to change the dogs a lot. | |

I though dog leg boxes refer to the layout of the gears and are nothing to do with clutchless shifting? | |

Let him take you for a test drive and if he changes gear without a clutch that could be an indicator? :boggle: | |

right my next door neighbour has got a supposed dog box (change gear with no clutch), its in a f10 housing. how much is this worth and how can we tell if it is actually a dog box??? |
