yeah i've seen harry hockley IRS but just seems to be the wishbones and is universal, no subframe to mount them.

Sand-eel... iirc it may have been a custom job, i saw the set up for sale from a rally car being broken up.. do harry hockley do an irs set up aswell??

Davey jack.. thats actually wrong, castor angle is the angle away from the vertical that the suspension strut follows.. nothing to do with pivots.. you may be thinking of KPI??

Well TBH you can still adjust the angle because a tie rod would still be there, i don't know why you would want to though.
The purpose of IRS is to give better camber compensation because on a torsion beam setup the camber goes more positive as the vehicle rolls. Alos you can get better roll centre heights (make it higher at the back than front close to the centre of gravity) giving less roll, increasing the load on the rear tyres so more grip/ better smaller roll centre movement/ closer instant centre if you want more wheel travel so in rallying is a must.
There are so many things that make IRS better.

any particular reason youre being so negative about this??

personally i think its a great idea. we do alot of rallying, and have been up against a fella with a corsa B, with IRS, on numerous occasions. He said it is by far the best investment he ever made. has transformed the car and made it 10x more competetive!

Nope.... it was a trick question mate, you cant adjust castor angle on the rear, not on a corsa anyway (with or without IRS)
because castor angle is the angle made between the centre line of the wheel and the axis that the wheel turns on when steering, and iirc the rear wheels dont steer on corsas.

It's for rallying.
To adjust castor angle you would space the top wishbone forward or back.

Oh really? explain to me how you would adjust castor angle on the rear?
Regardless, I meant in the sense it would not be worth converting a corsa to have IRS, you would be better off getting another car that had it.

not worth it....NOT WORTH IT, it's extremely worth it.
You can do more to the back suspension to make more difference than anything to the front.
