it was serveced before i bought it in october. We bled the clutch yesterday and it worked once, but then stopped working.

The revs are due to this....

not necessarily the clutch on its way out. air in the hydraulic clutch system will cause similar symptoms as the pressure on the release bearing will be lower and it wont disengage the clutch properly.

get a garage to look at it, when was it last serviced? did they replace the clutch fluid during the service?

clutch is on its way out.

since the revs are going up and down means its likely to go in next few days.

you need a new one.

if not make sure you have breakdown cover or someone to tow you.

apparently bmws have something in them to slowly release the clutch and thats where the revvin comes from

Pretty much 100% something to do with the clutch. Go and get it looked it as it'll just be speculation on here

the automatic sounding revving happened on my old 306.was the clutch slipping. the same with the struggle to get it into gear when the engines running, it will be the clutch not engaging/disengaging properly.i wouldnt recommend you keep driving it like this as it will just wreck your gearbox. you may need the clutch adjusting or, dare i say it, a new clutch.

I know this isnt a bmw forum etc, but jus wondered if anyone could help anyway.

Got a problem with my car and im unsure what it is. It goes in and out of gear fine when the engine is turned off, I can put it into gear, and i can hold the clutch in and start the car and drive it in that gear, although it does make a strange noise, like grinding/rubbing. Biting point seems very low when moving the car like this though.

Once the car is started, it wont come back out of that gear, or go into any gear for that matter, unless i turned it off, put it into gear and started it back up again.

It has been fine but it has sometimes sounded like its slipping, almost sounding like an automatic, when putting foot on the accelerator it revs higher and the revs drop down (it has been liek this since i bought it, but maybe thinking about it, its maybe got a lil worse with time), never heard another bmw do this, but i dont know if its normal with bmws. Cruise control also stops working the odd time as it revs up higher than normal and then the revs drop, almost like it cant engage properly.

Not really sure what it could be, just wondered if anyone could help :)

Thanks
