Do a search on here. Im 100% sure there was a price for the work quoted.

IIRC around £70-100

Is it expensive for a garage to do new linkages? Think mine is gonna need done very soon

You need to replace the linkage bushes.

Involves removing the rear gearbox mount and taking the gear linkage off.

Bushes are pennies but theyre a cunt to fit.

Mine struggles to go in reverse alot of the time, and sometimes it misses 5th.

Thats good news then, will get the mechanic friend to have a look (he has the equipment)

Any more help appreciated!

Yea...the linkages on corsas have always been dodgy, and its a common problem! I'm gonna have to reset mine coz im struggling to find 2nd and 3rd.

But the likely problem is the linkage!

Mines a little like this, sometimes misses 5th.

I think in the tutorials section theres a bit on how to re-align the gear linkage

Gear box on my 1996 x14xe sport is starting to go abit sloppy after 107k

Ie - can move gearstick side to side when in gear, struggles to go in all gears (sometimes) except 5th and reverse, and even then reverse crunches. It doesnt make any noise going into forward gears, just feels like you have to force it.

Whilst my friends 1996 14xe sport is totally the opposite. Nice and strong, little play and moves into gear with ease - how it should be.

Is this the linkages? Been looking for linkage kits on ebay and other cheap places, but cant seem to find any pics to see what the kits look like and whats included.

Anybody have any pics?

And what you looking to pay!

Thanks in advance:cool:
