HIDs hardly give off any heat
I've got a plastic lense cover on my car and it has been fine for 10months....

They run on HIGH voltage and low amps

Ever learned about electricity pylons at school?

They run lower temperatures.

mine say 'no HIDs' on the lamps, but ive had no problems and they adjusted a treat on the beam setter.

HID's run at higher temps than normal bulbs too. Are your outer lense covers plastic or glass? might be worth getting in touch with the manufacturer to know for sure

Not sure about that, i know what you mean though, when i had projectors on my old corsa they got very hot. and maybe HID's might melt/damage the plastics inside the light?

Hate to keep digging this up but:

Would it say NO HIDS ALLOWED on my projectors because they are E marked for use with halogens and would not be upto the standard for HIDs?

It was raining last night and there was steam comming off the lenses were they were warm

The halogens get fekkin hot
