Perhaps the previous owner jacked it up wrong?

Never jack it up on the sill points with a trolley jack, there meant for a scissor type jack.

quote: i know exactly where you jacked it up, because i watched a mate of mine jack my old corsa up in the same spot you have, at it did indeed put a dent in the rear footwell. Its not the jacking point, but you can fix it by tapping it with a lump hammer from inside, it neds back quite easily

quote: stop posting now. you're not being of any help. you're just trying to be a clever dick over the internet by telling other people how to jack up their own car and suggesting they dont know how to do it and you do because you know everything about everything.

in fact im sure the jacking point is on the corner of the outer layer of skin so even if you manged to bend the sill it wouldnt show in the floorpan inside, unless you really bent it shitloads

sounds to me like you jacked it up on the underbelly of the floorpan

the jacking point is on the sill mate, there is no way in hell you will bend that jacking the car up, unless your car is very very very rotten...

quote: haha i didnt jack it on the floor mate! as i sed, i think the rear jacking point is weak meaning i used it to jack the car up. and if i was changing rear shocks, why would i jack the car up on the rear beam?:o

When me and monster put the rear shocks on, i think the floor has dented up just behind passenger seat by rear foot well. I think its just from the weight from wen we jacked it up as the point looks quite weak. this happend to anyone else? any advise? im thinking a jock of wood and knock it back in? |
