Not unless you have friends in the dvla or police.

Check his name and the name on the log book?

Thats all you'd find out from anywhere anyway.

is there any way of finding out who owns a car, i need to know cos im buying a car and the seller is abit of a dodgy bloke and need to know whether it is stolen or not.

I know the lisence plate and thats about it.
