I bought my '93 1.4 SRi on 105K and although the engine was running fine, I sourced a 'new' engine with only 65K (45K SH) on it and a recent rebuild (all new gaskets) just to be sure.

Fired her up this week and she's running sweet as, not bad for £100 :thumbs:

100,000 miles is nothing these days. It should keep on going for a few more. You see taxis with 200,000 on them and they still run.

Sold my old sri 8v on 110k+ still with factory fitted cambelt! I think it had 23k on when i got it...

depends on how many miles over 100,000 its done. if its serviced well then there should be no problem

not necessarily a rebuild eel, as marc said, if its been well serviced etc it'll be good for abit yet

Depends how the car has been looked after. As long as cambelt has been changed and the service history is up to date I wouldn't worry.

average to just under average sort of miles for one these days i assume (at the risk of making and ass out of you and me) 10,000 a year sounds reasonable as average? but personally i wouldn't touch one with those kind of miles tbh

is over 100,000 miles alot 4 a corsa b 1995 sri 1.4 16v my has the same engine from new
