ace. erm is it 4th june mate? im strapped for cash at mo and only have a shitty 1.2 8v shed to travel in, so its looking doubtful lol

I know mate, my mate was lucky getting his, lovely car though.

Full Irmy kit on it, and the 2litre gets switchable traction control ;)

You goin PVS?

MR2Mike

i might just do that lol, the 2.0s seem harder to find though.

and finding one with the irmscher styling is a bitch of a job lol

Good chances to be honest but i would still go for the 2 litre, my sister had a 1.8 and my mate has a 2.0 and the 1.8 is only about the same on acceleration but after 60 the 2.0litre starts pulling away, more power, more torque etc.

Go for an irmschered up 2.0 litre sri mate ;)

ace, ill go for the 1.8 then ... cheers :D

just one more thing...... what are my chances of finding a black 1.8 sri with the irmscher styling and average miles for around £3000??

i agree mate as ive said before , i love my dads . feels quicker than a 1.8 and you also feel very secure in them ( bit of an old fart coment i know ) plus there good on fuel according too him :D

lol, either way out of the 2 astras i'd pick the faster one. If the 1.8 is faster then i'd go for that. Probably not the best reason to choose a car but it's all i ever go for.

thats why you've got an impreza and we've got corsa's

brett ive had a saxo before and theyre not great build wise. brakes are worse than vauxhalls.

also i want to move up a step in car, and a saxo isnt a step up mate

Would it not be cheaper to insure, not to mention over 2secs quicker 0-60 and better handling and get a Saxo VTS?

Can't remember if I asked you on msn before? Or are you against French cars? I had one and they're not that bad for falling apart as people say as long as you get one that's been looked after :)

MR2Mike

so the 1.8 sri would be the best bet then? (after reading the above info about insurance and price of each model to buy)

MR2Mike

posted on 12th May 06 at 10:53

i thought i was seeing things in total vauxhall pal...

0-60 for the 1.8 8.5 secs
0-60 for the 2.0 9.0 secs

glad youve cleared that up for me cheers (i didnt know the reason)

Z20XEV .... what do you think of this engine?

134 bhp 138 lb.ft torque

(im hopefully getting a 2.0 mk4 astra in the next few weeks and im just wondering if its going to be reasonably quick? i cant insure the 2.2 btw, and even though i can insure the 2.0 turbo, they are more expensive to buy than the normal 2.0)
