Oooooooh yes
it is a strange torque on mine at the start but aparently it over fuels, that was on wallace rolling road also

massive jump at 2k ginger...

yes rob...

as opposed to a 1.6 TB with 190bhp and 137lb/ft, and a very very similar graph

AK

booked in for re-map on Monday.....

Cybermonkey

just goes to show how good the 20XE lump is, 170lb/ft from a TB setup with 190bhp

Robin

the first 2 graphs are typical TB graphs, power climbing all the way to the limiter, torque being instant with open throttle

the second set look like mine with a buggered plug

yeah Rob, previous map with the new manifold might be smoother, original torque line is actually really good, is 5lb/ft down on peak, but keeps the torque at 165lb/ft between 3500 and 6500rpm, and thats what you want for midrange punch. the remap might peak at 170lb/ft but by 6500rpm its already 20lb/ft down on the previous setup

do it today.

AK

Going to book it into Dastek HQ soon for a re-map...

will ask them to make sure they provide before and after plots....

AK

yes.... the 'hole' at 3000 is concerning

Robin

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:27

i was looking at the numbers on above the graph

have they got the old map saved? i'd revert back to that if you aren't using anyone else

Cybermonkey

adam 20lb/ft drop in 500rpm is pretty significant... will affect performance noticably i would imagine, particularly sprints

AK

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:25

pay attention to the scale on the torque.... its not as bad as it first looks....

still...

Cybermonkey

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:22

170lb/ft is a nice peak at 5k, but thats the only positive since it drops right off at 6k plus. im with rob, get it mapped elsewhere if the fueling and timing is spot on...

Robin

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:17

actually, thats shocking, you've lost power at the bottom end, must bog down now

get it mapped somewhere else....

Cybermonkey

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:16

feck that  that drop in torque must be really obvious on the road too, will a definate drop, probably like its misfiring...

a_j_mair

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:15

nice smooth curve there :o

Robin

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:15

so you've gained a little power at the top end, between 7k and 7.5

but seriously, WTF is going on with that torque?

AK

posted on 4th Apr 06 at 12:14

finally got them..... and they are very .... erm.... interesting...

BEFORE SBD exhaust manifold. (when car was originally mapped in Sept i think)

BHP

Torque

AFTER SBD manifold and remap... (in Jan 2006)

BHP

Torque
:!

The fueling and timing are reportadly ok (wallace)...

Comments?
