The porous head thing seems to be a regular with the XE engine.

check header tanks and under the oil filler for anything untoward (oil/water mix), signs of a porous head, or dying head gasket

Just a quick hello, I'm looking to get an XE powered Corsa and wondered what are the common problems to look for? as in are there any common conversion bodges or issues with the cars in general. I'm looking to get a Corsa "B" with the plan to add diesel badges for the sleeper look. I notice there are plenty for sale in the classifieds section but would like to know what to look out for. Most of them are miles and miles from me, which isn't a problem but I'd hate to break down on the journey home |
