They are similar blocks so should imagine the mounts to be simmilar its just the wiring that will be the pain!!

A mate used to have a 900 turbo and it was fair fast!!
Could get a carrlsson (dunno how its spelt) lump and throw that in something with a decent size engine bay, would be fast :D

Physically the same amount of effort I would have thought, but parts are more expensive and don't fit, and if you ask a question on here no one will know the answer :D

Probably possible but you would need to see how different everything is as its Vectra stuff and more modern. More than likely different to the proven route that is Calibra / Astra GTE bits, which although older is proven power and there's enough known about fitting it.

There's not much gain to be had going for newer stuff, less miles maybe but thats not a massive thing considering the extra price for a scrapped Saab engine (I've never seen one!!) and the fact they're not so much more powerful. Plus you have things like more complicated electronics, more stringent emissions regulations with a modern engine, you need a cat etc, which you don't with an engine made before 92.

They aren't the same, they are just both owned by GM so are probably pretty similar in most cases.
